The MT6989 is a member of MediaTek's Dimensity flagship family, which is designed to provide state-of-the-art technology and performance to flagship 5G smartphone vendors. The MT6989 is also MediaTek's most innovative and powerful 5G smartphone chip at present, with powerful features such as leading power efficiency, unmatched computing architecture, the fastest and most stable 5G modem ever, and the most innovative multimedia technology. The MT6989 integrates the latest Armv9.2 CPU IP with 1 XP-Core (HunterELP), 3 p-core (HunterELP) and 4 e-core (Hunter), as well as the latest OpenOS to support a wide range of modern smartphone applications, including captivating multimedia experiences, reloaded gaming, and multitasking productivity. The MT6989 also integrates the latest Arm Mali Titan GPU IP with the ability to render 2D and 3D graphics for an enhanced visual experience. The MT6989's new 7th Gen APU is capable of aDDRessing the latest AI trends and delivering maximum effective performance in AI multimedia, AI gaming, AI cameras, and modern social video experiences. The seventh-generation APU is also designed to ensure the continuous operation of AI-enhanced technologies in a variety of conditions. Combined with state-of-the-art CPU, DSP and hardware coprocessors, the MT6989 provides a powerful modem subsystem that supports NR Sub6, LTE Cat 19, Category 24 HSDPA downlink and Category 7 HSUPA uplink data rates as well as Category 12 GPRS and EDGE. The MT6989 also works with MediaTek's latest Wi-Fi 7/BT 5.4 connectivity chip, the MT6639, to provide the industry's most dynamic and advantageous connectivity solution.

The MT6989 uses TSMC's third-generation 4nm chip production process to greatly improve the overall performance quality in all aspects, taking performance and user experience to the next level.
