Wireless connectivity air quality monitoring solution based on MediaTek Genio 130A (MT7933) + BOSCH BME688
The monitoring and application of environmental data has always been an indispensable important information in various fields, and sensors are the main components that provide these environmental data, whether it is the consumer market, industrial control, smart home or even the automotive field.
For the people we live in, the most relevant environmental data are temperature, humidity and air quality, which includes bacteria, organic compounds and volatile sulfur compounds. When we combine sensors that measure air environment data with processors with wireless connectivity technology (WiFi/BT), we can bring accurate and real-time air quality monitoring solutions to smart home applications.
MediaTek's Genio 130A (MT7933) microprocessor is based on the Arm Cortex-M33 architecture processor, with a clock speed of up to 300MHz and a built-in 8MB SRAM.
Genio 130A (MT7933) also supports wireless connectivity technologies such as WiFi 6 and BT 5.2, and the new version of the SDK already supports Matter technology, which enables the product to seamlessly connect to other devices on the smart home platform across platforms, enhancing product value.
In addition, the built-in HiFi4 DSP of Genio 130A (MT7933) greatly improves the efficiency and accuracy of speech recognition. In addition, it can also be integrated with the WiFi function with the Amazon Alexa intelligent voice assistant to provide cloud voice recognition services. Its voice assistant function also provides voice control for Matter.
This solution is based on the MediaTek Genio 130A (MT7933) processor combined with the Bosch BME688 sensor to realize the application of temperature, humidity and air quality monitoring in the smart home. It can be applied to the Matter smart home environment, providing voice reminders when the air in the home is bad, automatically starting the air purification device and other functions, and can be used through the mobile phone APP to achieve remote monitoring and operation application scenarios.

USB 2.0 OTG is supported
Rich peripheral interfaces such as: USB, SDIO, SPI master/slave, I2C, I2S, UART, AUXADC, PWM and 46 sets of GIPO
Provide FreeRTOS and Arduino development SDKs and a number of sample projects to shorten the development time
As a leading supplier of MEMS sensor products, Bosch has launched the BME688, a new generation of AI-intelligent, highly integrated, high-precision gas, pressure, humidity and temperature sensor, which has the following features:
0 x 3.0 x 0.9 mm³ package
I2C, SPI interfaces
Provides high linearity and accuracy of pressure, humidity and temperature and gas sensor data
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs), and other gases such as carbon monoxide and hydrogen can be detected in the parts per billion (ppb) range
We use the rich and complete SDK support of MT7933, use Arduino as a convenient and fast development environment, integrate BME688 to obtain environmental data sample program, and transmit environmental data to the mobile phone through MT7933 WIFI connection, the following is the demonstration process:
The Arduino development environment is used to integrate the MT7933 WIFI network function and control BME688 to obtain environmental data
Compile & burn, connect to the WIFI hotspot of the mobile phone after powering on, and start to transmit BME688 environmental data
After the mobile phone is successfully connected, it will start to receive the environmental data obtained by BME688, including temperature, pressure, humidity, gas measurement index, gas resistance and other data obtained by 8 BME688s
